I've never been drawn to a super "feminine" style. I wore camo pants from the army-navy store in high school (no, there are no pictures), I asked for a Carhartt jacket for my birthday, and my dream Halloween costume was Miss Congeniality, so I could wear a long hot pink dress and combat boots underneath it.
I've grown up (a little) and I'm no longer sporting camouflage parachute pants, but I'm always looking to add a little edge to my outfit. My go-to: ripped jeans and my trusty leather jacket. And I did manage to balance it out with a more feminine lace-up heel. (Pro-tip: if you shy away from heels, the block heel is a life-saver. So much easier to balance and walk in).
