Identity Crisis

Before I started this blog, I consulted with a few well-established bloggers who were kind enough to advise me, and the number one take-away I received from all of them was to "be your authentic self" and your readership will come. Of course this is great advice, but first and foremost, I had to figure out what that meant. Until now, I thought I needed to choose a niche. I needed to be a fashion blogger, or a food blogger, or someone who only took pictures of beautiful landscapes. I was rapidly losing sight of why I started this in the first place. I want to be creative. Sometimes that's going to come out in what I wear, sometimes in what I cook, and a lot of the time, next to a river, or on a mountaintop.

One of my passions is film, and I originally fell in love with the editing process. I quickly discovered I only like editing my own stuff, with complete creative control. (Isn't that the case with everything?) Lucky for me, this blog is all mine.

I'm going to try something that incorporates video into this process, and I'm really excited to see where I take it.

Here's a sneak peek.

Hope you're having a great week.
